However, when it comes to the best European cities to live in, there are a few that really stand out - and in more ways than one.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
With the Netherlands being routinely named as one of the happiest countries in the world, the capital of Amsterdam can prove to be the perfect city for those who choose to study abroad there - especially when the family will be coming along or visiting frequently. While Dutch is the official language, English is widely spoken by many, making it the perfect destination for families who wish to avoid a large language barrier when out and about. This can prove to be helpful at restaurants and the like, especially for those who may have dietary restrictions like food allergies.
