Top 5 Places to Visit in Paris, France

Top 5 Places to Visit in Paris, France

Writen by Erin Crowder

Hello, I am Erin Crowder, a student at Chapman University in Orange, California. A few years back, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to travel for a week to Paris, France, and was blessed with unforgettable memories and stories. In this article, I am going to introduce the top five places you must visit when traveling to Paris, France through Study Abroad Europe. From delicious food, to photo-worthy tourist sites, these five places will make your trip to the City of Love all the more memorable.

1. Cafe De Flore

This popular cafe is definitely not one to miss. The atmosphere is constantly bustling, and this historic cafe will provide you with the Parisian food you anticipate eating during your trip. Known most for it’s famous customers in the past, I knew I needed to add this cafe to my list when I traveled to Paris. The best time to visit is before noon for coffee and breakfast. The atmosphere was lively without becoming overcrowded, and this cafe provided me with a fabulous start to my day.

2. Pont des Arts Bridge

Pont des Arts is most memorably known for being the famous “lock bridge.” For years, loved ones wrote their initials or a message on a padlock and key, locked the padlock onto the bridge, and threw the key into the water below. It was a true reflection of the City of Love.

Unfortunately, the acts of affection have been removed from the Pont des Arts bridge, and are no longer allowed by the City. However, this attraction still remains an amazing place to visit in Paris, giving it’s tourists a view to remember. On one side of the bridge lies the famous Louvre, making this bridge central to the majority of Paris tourism. The bridge once symbolizing love and affection stands over the beautiful River Siene, and it is certainly a landmark you’ll want to experience.

3. Amorino

Amorino is an iconic ice cream shop, consisting of gelato and macaroons in Paris. If you have a sweet tooth, this is absolutely the place to visit. After a long day of touring the city under the hot sun, this gelato is the scoop of freshness you will need. Two of my personal favorite flavors I would recommend, are the pistachio and raspberry flavors—they are to die for! Make sure to add this to your “Need to Visit” list when you’re planning out your Paris vacation.

4. Tuileries Garden

Next up on your Paris itinerary for a memorable trip to Paris is the Tuileries Garden. This 17th century formal garden is conveniently located right next to The Louvre—an attraction every tourist plans to visit. On a peaceful afternoon, be sure to take a stroll through Jardin des Tuileries, and admire the view. This garden is filled with fountains, sculpted shrubbery, and intricate statues. This historical garden is a wonderful place to enjoy an afternoon picnic, people watch, and find your peace of mind.

5. Trocadero Square

The final, and possibly most important, place to add to your itinerary when traveling to Paris is the infamous, Place du Trocadero. Every tourist in Paris anticipates visiting the Eiffel Tower, and the sparkle that radiates from it every hour after sun down. Trocadero Square is the best location to take the clearest picture of the famous Tower, and take in the attraction.

Behind the plaza where tourists go to take pictures, is a long line of restaurants and cafes to grab dinner right before you watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle. Place du Trocadero was the highlight of my trip to Paris, providing me with amazing pictures, and a memory that is absolutely unforgettable.

When traveling to Paris, France, there are a multitude of places to visit to make the most of your visit. With these five places in mind, your experience in the City of Love will be taken to a much more memorable—and delicious—level.
