Housing & Student Life

International University College

Starting 2013-2014 academic year students in Dobrich can benefit from the new
dormitory at IUC. It is located in the city center and 10 minutes walking
distance from the IUC building. Each apartment dorm has 3 rooms. The price
of the room varies between 80-120 Euros depending on the size of the room.
There are 2 or 3 beds in every room. The price does not include the cost of
water, electricity and gas. Rooms are furnished and the kitchens are
equipped with stoves. For each additional device such as TV or a mini
fridge the students will be charged separately.

IUC offers accommodation in several locations in Dobrich.

The main dormitory of the IUC is located in the city park at around 300
meters from the IUC building. The rooms feature refrigerator, electric
kettle, TV set, air conditioning (optional). Accommodation is offered in
single and double rooms. The cost is approximately 5 EUR/day per student in
a double room and includes all utility fees (electricity, heating, water,
etc). The building also houses the "Ben the Bear" restaurant, which is
available for students to visit.

One of the wings of the IUC building is equipped with a ramp and an
elevator for people with disabilities. All guest rooms feature in IUC’s
main building have free wi-fi connection, central heating system,
refrigerator, private bathroom. The rooms are subject to availability.

Alternative accommodation is available in proximity to IUC based on student
demand. We will try to provide accommodation for all students who have
booked it in advance.

If you want to live in a private apartment in the centre of Dobrich, it
would not be difficult to find an appropriate place in the area surrounding
IUC at a reasonable price. Since everything a young person may need can be
found in the centre of the city, you would not need to pay for
transportation.

Hotels in Dobrich:
1) Bulgaria Hotel Complex (four-star) - it offers 290 beds, two
restaurants, bars, and a swimming pool
2) Sport Palace Hotel (three-star) - it offers 100 beds, a restaurant, two
bars, a fitness hall, etc. 3) Villa Di Poletta
4) Dobroudzha Hotel (three-star).
5) Rezidentsiyata Hotel and Restaurant.

However, we recommend to new students to utilize the accommodation options
offered by IUC in order to get familiar with the place.

Currently students of IUC can join the following clubs and societies:
Sports Club, Dancing Club, Club in Journalism and Writing. In 2012 IUC
students in the tourism and hospitality programmes established the
Hospitality Industry Travel & Tourism Society, HITTS.

IUC is committed to multiculturalism, diversity and to a culture of peace.
The Marketing Department and the International
Cooperation Department encourages international
students to interact closely with the their fellow students and to
familiarize them with their cultures through all forms of creative art,
music, singing, dancing and food. In this way a taste of the world is
offered to local and international students. The International Students
week at IUC is organized traditionally in November and includes a series of
cultural events and culinary adventures.
