Rome is beautiful during every season, but if you have found a few days for a getaway holiday before you continue your study abroad program, there are a few things to know about the Italian capital. In general, tourists visit the city of Rome during the spring and autumn months, however you will find plenty of tourists even in the hottest days of the summer. The quietest period in Rome is between the months of November and March, as there are no queues and crowds at the museums and galleries. Besides, there are likely to be special prices and many discounts in the hotels. February is a great month to get accommodation and flights at a bargain price. It is also the most relaxing time to see the landmarks of the Eternal City and get more attention from the staff in the galleries and museums and better service at the restaurants and cafes. You should definitely wear comfortable shoes as Rome is like an open-air museum and even the main landmarks are within easy reach, you should better feel comfortable while exploring the sites. The must see places that will help you feel the delightful atmosphere of this ancient city, include the Vatican City and Museums, the nearby Castel Sant’ Angelo, the Palatine Hill and the Coliseum, The Roman Forum, Fori Imperiali and the Catacombs, the Pantheon. The museums to be checked include Palazzo Massimo, Galleria Borghese, the Capitoline Museum and Villa Guilia Museum. The churches that should be seen are St. Pietro and Santa Maria Maggiore, Sant’ Agnese in Agone on Piazza Navona, etc.

There are so many lovely sites, right? Yet, you should take your time to spend time and enjoy a walk along the squares and fountains in Rome like Piazza Navona,Piazza di Trevi and Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna with the famous Spanish Steps, Piazza Barberini with the Triton Fountain. The temperatures at that time of the year are around 10 degrees Celsius, so it is not that chilly.
